Guest guest
Dawn JFYI, (I hope you are kind of new so I don't make a fool out of myself! If you already know about this info I will give please remember I can't keep everyone's names straight) I just wanted to let you know that blindness in one eye is probably from NF2, even if it wasn't diagnosed as that. I, along with at least 15 other crew members are blind in one eye also. Mine (eye) was diagnosed at 3 or 4 years old long long before my NF2 diagnoses. The Dr's told my parents it was some scar tissue over the eye. They tried to fix it with no success. After I was diagnosed for NF2, I began some research of my own. I found in Mia McCollens study that something like 13% of NF2 patients had what they called " retinal hammeritoma (sp?) " basically scar tissue on the eye. SOooo, don't think that in my case and many others that this was just a random coincidence ). , As for driving go for it! I started driving again 7 days after my " deafness surgery " ! Although I should have waited a tad longer I think heehee. Just take your time and get lotsa pratcice, Pat was right, there are a lot more people out there with licenses that have less brains than you! ) Hugs,
