Guest guest
*arrgh* There have been a number of papers that have come out in the last two years that have shown that the inhaled dose of toxins is much higher than the old levels that this guy is probably talking about. The old estimates assumed (wrongly) that only spores carried toxins, we now know that the toxin load on tiny particles smaller than spores is substantially higher than the amount on spores only. And military research on weaponization of mycotoxins shows that inhalational exposures are 5-20 times more powerful by weight than toxins are when ingested. But they always use ingested levels as the toxic level. Also, stachybotrys and fusarium toxins can also absorb through the skin, for example, through hands and bare feet. And the presence of bacterial endotoxins like LPS which are commonly present in damp buildings when there has been flooding or sewage overflow or wet soil in basements, etc. make some mycotoxins toxic effects several times stronger than they would otherwise be. Also, there is a big difference between short term exposures and chronic, low level exposures.. which very few scientists seem to have done research on, even though its sorely needed. What research we DO have - AS WELL AS A HUGE AMOUNT OF HUMAN EXPERIENCE - shows lots of indications that chronic exposure to many mycotoxins can be extremely damaging.. Guest guest
" You'd have more of a chance of ketchup causing cancer than mold causing cancer, " said Cyrus Rangan, director of toxic epidemiology for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. " It has really become more of a legal problem than it is a medical problem. " Although mold is known to cause allergic reactions such as respiratory problems and sinus issues, that's about where it ends, he said. If I hear this allergic reaction BS one more time, I'm going to SCREAM! How about we write Cyrus a group letter from those who KNOW the health compromises! Was there a comment section on this one? Of course LA County would promote this BS...think of all the moldy schools, and public buildings in their county!
