Guest guest
Tess, I've done it both ways. A lot depends on how the officer responds on the radio when they go enroute. Some times the officer will say " go ahead with the call " then its like airing any other call. If the officer says " I'll be enroute " then I say All units be advised, unit XXX enroute to (type of call) at (location). If it's a lobby call, I air it as " all units be advised, unit XXX in the lobby on a (type of call). AND before anyone jumps in, I know " be advised " is one of those pet peeve set of words that are redundant or unnecessary but I've done it that way for many years and no one in my department seems to care!!!!! Kathy << Okay, I know I'm going to sound stupid, but just remember I am new at this (this is my first year). Could you guys give me some examples of how you air a call that you have just given to the officer who is standing right next to you in the comm center? Some people have said to say something like " units, information: 41xx is responding from station to a rept of a disturbance.. " blah blah blah. Other people have told me to just act as if I didn't just give them the info and dispatch it as a new call. What do you guys do? >>
