The County Fire dept is just starting with them now, after having used MPDS without the tiered dispatch for the last year or so. Other cities within our county are adopting the same kind of system, albeit slowly - it is a huge paradigm shift from the usual race code 3 to every call kind of mode. If you want further data on how our system is working, get ahold of our QI Supervisor, Doreen Hargrave, at doreen.hargrave@... - Randall Larson San Fire/9-1-1 Magazine

As I said in an earlier post, " A " and " B " responses to us are only one unit. " A " is code 3 or routine, and " B " is code 1 or lights and sirens. For those 2 responses we need to be sure they are clear on Code 1 or 3. When we dispatch an Engine and a Med Unit, they automatically know that it is Code 1 cause we basically wouldn't be sending them both if it was a routine response. We never tell them ABC or D. That would really throw them off. Does that make sense?
