Guest guest
Every response you're gonna get from a Congressional Rep/Sen on a general topic is going to be 'prepared.' THANK GOD this guy's prepared statement is one that recognizes the danger and the reality we all know personally. Senators have up to MILLIONS of constituents (depending on the population of their state) - how on earth could their answers on a general question be written individually?! Representive democracy is not done by magic, it's done by elected human beings who have staff to help them respond to the concerns and positions of those they represent. That doesn't mean correspondence to them is for naught - letters get read and counted and novel concepts highlighted. It's kinda like the whole Santa Claus myth - one guy (or gal) can't get down every chimney on the planet in one night...it takes all of us playing our role to effect change. ~Haley gsgrl2000 <gsgrl2000@...> wrote: This sounds like a " prepared " statement. Guest guest
Yea I know the aids write this stuff. That is the problem you can't get to talk to a real senator usually. And my aunt baby sat this senator's kids while he was governor, but I have never been able to talk to him personally. And Senator Biden in my state wants to be president and I have talked and written his office many times. Once I talked to his mom on the phone. I thought I was calling his home number. And he lived right next door to my ex-step father when they were kids. But I will keep trying.
