Guest guest
I wrote this a few months ago. I guess I was a little agressive. Just sharing, of course did not get a response. Subject: Final version to Oprah I was very sad when I read your March article If Looks Could Kill. It was very upsetting to see all the work I have done for nine years damaged because of this article. Your April article Toxin Confidential talks about the dangers of the chemicals in our products. These articles probably left people confused as to which article is the truth. Or some might not have read the April issue and believe that many of our products are safe. Many with asthma or reactive airways disease are triggered by these chemicals in shampoos, fragrance, soaps. I get migraines when near some products. Many times I have had to rush home vomiting because someone had something on that made me ill. I have safe products in my home but suffer from products that others use. It's like having lung cancer and someone smoking regardless. Many of us are so isolated and need human contact. The doctors told me all I can do is stay away from fragrances, etc. The inhalers do not work for me. Many are abused because people just don't care or don't bother to educate themselves. This is the worse abuse of all living in a world where our government allows this to happen knowing people are suffering from the chemicals in cosmetics, etc. You have a responsibility to tell the truth so that we are not abused by people that might have read your article. People believe Oprah. You have the power and money to go against your sponsors. You could all learn from the sick instead of denying our illness. We have a God given right to breathe safe air in this world. The corporations and the media should do something. Companies don't have to prove their products are safe. Millions watch your show and read your magazine and will now get the wrong message unless you make it right. Of course those experts say their products are safe. Think how many chemicals in products you use in a day even from nail polish as mentioned in the article. The chemicals linger for hours.
