Guest guest
VICTORIA/ALL: I thought I might use your message below to provide everyone who wants to study the processes of MEDICAL MYCOLOGY to some personal or professional length the tools for doing so. This site is offered by the University of Georgia for the purpose of those students who are involved in PREMED. However, don't think for a moment that if you are NOT a premed student that you will not be able to understand the information in the WEBSITES listed for ACCESS... much of what is out there is very informative and eye-opening: http://www.franklin.uga.edu/premed/4700.htm Also an excellent quiz about micro fungi that has the answers that is very informative: (Dr. Tadayo Hashimoto, M.D., Dept. of Microbiology & Immunology - Loyola Medicine) http://www.meddean.luc.edu/lumen/DeptWebs/microbio/med/review/mycology.htm Doug Haney Maridea EnviroHealth Research Email: _Haney52@... Guest guest
: You are very welcome. It is my thought that even though the study of Medical Mycology is rather tough and at times complicated that it is extremely important that people on this Group get involved educationally. Why? Because the more we as advocates/professional people absorb mentally in comprehending the molecular science/molecular sciences methodology behind what is observed under electron (and other state-of-the-art) microscopes; in computerized instrumentation; and, through sophisticated scientific instrumentation and genetic (and other) testing processes, the easier it is to understand and explain how and why people such as those at Veritox, Inc., are wasting our time with research idiocy. By doing this our forces will grow in strength and publicly we will be much more of a force to be listened to. This also helps us communicate much more productively with those just learning that molds and yeasts are not just simple allergens or moderate respiratory irritants. My point is offering the listing of websites for educational benefit will I hope, assist many who use this website frequently get past the " surface " information available and get into the " medical core " of just how significant micro fungi are in the processes of serious diseases (and not just affecting patients with compromised immunity, but productively creating immune deficiency as " simple exposures " become " advanced strengthening super-colonies " capable of cytotoxity in nerves and other cellular functions). Than you for your comments. Guest guest
Doug, I totally agree. I recently saw the movie " Thank You For Smoking " (which is about a lobbyist for the tobacco industry) Has anybody here seen it? If not, you really should rent it and check it out. Its about lobbyists, spin control, and much of what happens is very similar to the mold battle.. It is an incredibly good film to see for anyone who has to deal with these various industry flacks. At the end the tobacco lobbyists (who you cant help but sypathize with in a perverse way, because its a very funny film) all went into lobbying and doing damage control for the asbestos, chemical, cheap firearms, etc. PR companies.. Do any of these 'companes' do research? They don't actually do any research, do they? I know that many of them have research sounding names.. though... Guest guest
Hi Doug--YOU are a wonderful asset to this website and this community, Doug, & you're both an inspiration AND a terrific source of information. I don't have nearlyyyyy the info that you have, Doug, but I sure wish I did!! I hope to use however much is left of my life, to at least partially further the advance in the medical society about microfungi illnesses, too , Doug.....wherever and whenever I possibly can. My life was destroyed by the inhalation of toxic molds years ago.....my life will never be the same, but what I CAN do, is try to prevent this from happening to others....in their homes, workplaces, and elsewhere. We ALL must work as a team, to get this done, & you're one of our greatest team leaders! Take GOOD care, Doug, thank you again, & God bless!
