Guest guest
Artilcle released today, KC may put article up, but a company has come out with a two coating process that penetrates the wood and supposedly ties the cellulous together so that mold cannot grow on it. I went to their web site, perfectbarrier.com, and from the images I see in the pictures, it appears they are giving this treatment to the particle board as well as the structural timber. I did notice in the article it said they are coating all 6 sides, which would include the two ends which also tells me it does not permeate the wood completely. That being the case, what happens to all those pieces of wook that have to be cut on site in order to fit as fire blocks, door and window framing, etc. As for those who use this wood, lets ask the question which would probably yield an oxmoronic answer, are they building the homes with this new mold resistant wood, and then putting paper lined drywall against it for the walls? At least it is nice to see that someone does recognize there is a problem and are at least on the surface if not at heart trying to show some attempt to combat what may be our greatest lurking enemy. I do see more and more information and things like this which tends to push the denial of mold issue a little further back.
