Guest guest
Our trip up north turned out to be a 120 mile trip to Walmart, heck we needed to go there anyway. The cabins were small, I can live with that, they were mold free, I can live with that too, but we couldn't get the internet connection to work and they could not come up with a resolution to that problem. We make our living writing for different companies on the internet, and without the connection we have no income. So we are back. I'm wondering, most of the mold is within reach in the basement, and I have two idea's.... 1) get a small boxed fan, the kind in a small metal box, and set it in the basement and hook it to the drier vent to create a negative air pressure in the basement, (venting the basement to the outside). This would draw out of the living environment instead of allowing it to eek into our environment. 2) Clean the mold off all the wood I possibly can, get it dried out, then seal it in with a urethane or oil based finish. I don't see how the spores and mycotoxins could possibly escape being sealed in, but I don't know all there is to know about mold so I thought I'd ask the experts and many poeple here who have experience with it. I tried making one house livable, but I couldn't remediate it short of busting out all the drywall and framework and it wasn't my house. This is pretty much exposed, so do I have a chance? If we can we'd like to stay here until we can get our RV, but that will mean waiting through the Christmas season. I wish we had one, I could gut it myself if I had too. Thanks for any info, Dan
