Middleton said when the problem was first discovered, the town had Gaston Garrett do a visual survey and then he treated and sealed the floor where the mold was seen growing. " We thought the problem had been taken care of then, " he said. After the mold seemed to reappear, the city hired with Coastal Services, LLC to take air samples and do an analysis. That was done in July and his report to the town was submitted July 17, and the area was again cleaned and sealed. Middleton said he also got an opinion from Watts, with ATC Environmental in Daphne, about the mold in the building. " He indicated he didn't think it was something that couldn't be taken care of and he defiantly didn't think the building should be torn down, " Middleton said. He said the town has an alternative location that could be used for the dispatchers and the court clerk but it has not yet been determined that a move is necessary. Another air quality analysis was done Aug. 4 and Middleton said the town is waiting on the results from that test to come in. " We will do whatever it takes to get the problem solved, " Middleton said.
