Guest guest
Remember this topic? I couldn't find any air filter for cabin in my car, Toyota Camry, so asked Toyota and service person wasn't familiar with a cabin filter in Camry's. He said he had an Avalon, upgrade from Camry and had a filter that filtered air coming from outside or air conditioner or heater, either one, and it was a hepa filter. Nice feature. I asked about a filter on my air conditioner and he said there is one but whether they can reach it easily to change it, didn't know. Wow, they really don't pay ANY attention to air conditioner filters, do they??? Oh well, just thought I'd share that tidbit of info. In the market for cars, some have hepa filters filtering cabin air. I'm surprised they shortchange the Camry with not even one of those cheap filters and then pop up to a hepa for the Avalon! Guest guest
I'm surprised that the Camry doesn't have one. I always thought Toyota had them in all their cars. I bought a used Hyundai Tucson and it has one. I think they get to it thru the glove box but I'm not certain. But I do know it is easy to replace. They changed it for me when I bought the car. They were very interested after hearing my story about toxic exposure and MCS. Sue Remember this topic? Guest guest
Barb, I just googled in Toyota, Camry, incabin filter and found some listed. You may want to question them further or look in your owners manual about the filter because I always thought they had them?! I'll even look into it myself . Sue Remember this topic? Guest guest
I take the car in next Wednesday and I will ask then. Seems odd they would have a hepa in their Avalon and drop down to non at all in the Camry. > > > I'm surprised that the Camry doesn't have one. I always thought Toyota had > them in all their cars. Guest guest
It says nothing in the Toyota owners manual that I have, unless it isn't in index. I'll find out next week. Thanks. I bet you are right. I just haven't found it yet and I'm going to ask if there is a filter on the air conditioner too. I doubt it but one can hope there is and it is replaceable or cleanable! > > > Barb, I just googled in Toyota, Camry, incabin filter and found some listed. >
Guest guest
I'd make sure to ask the Service manager about it. I would really be surprised if the Camry doesn't have one. Guest guest
Hang in there. Think positive and hopefully all will be well with the filter!! Sue Unfortunately while living in my temporary apt, my car was parked outside in heat and humidity and so hot when I got in it, ran the a/c more and is now smelling moldy so I wanted to see if they would look at my air conditioner and I could have cabin filter changed also, so I will see. I used to keep it in garage and the short distance to work I needed to drive it and park in garage there, never ran the a/c...so another thing now needing to be cleaned. One step forward and two steps back. > > > I'd make sure to ask the Service manager about it. Guest guest
I'm glad you asked but very sorry yours doesn't have one!! I was pretty sure Camrys had them and had heard that Toyota was one of the first to install them in their cars. Your next new or used Camry will have one so you'll have that to look forward to!! Until then I guess we'll have to drive a lot with our windows down when it's warm enough. Stay well and safe. Sue Hi Sue, I had my Toyota in for service last week and it does NOT have a cabin filter, apparently since it is a 1997 model and they said they didn't add them to Camry's until 2002 or so. >> > I'd make sure to ask the Service manager about it.
