Guest guest
I've been off Synthroid (50mcg) completely for 3 weeks and worked my way up to 40mcg of Cytomel. temps in the 4 days (at the full 40 T3) have been 97.7 97.4 97.5 97.3 My temps have come down since being on 40 T3. Before getting off T4 and on T3 my temps were nice and stable (on 20HC) and higher. I don't get it, why are they going down? They are supposed to go up not down, right? I'm not feeling any better of course, feel pretty bad. Before the T3 temps were around 98 (with only .2 differences). Almost instantly (within a day or two) when reaching 20HC my temps came up and stable. My RT3 ratio is horrible (7.6) so that's why I got off the T4. As I understand it, you go more hypo during the 4-6 weeks of getting off T4, right? But.....if the T4 was only making RT3 how would it do anything but make someone feel better getting off the T4. I know I need probably a lot more T3 but why is my temp going down not up and why don't I feel any better although supposably I'm making less and less RT3 everyday. Just when I think I've got a handle on this stuff I get confused again. Any thought's would be appreciated. Thanks.
Guest guest
It is possible this is more than your adrenals can handle or you wree also making T3 of your own ad this is supressing it. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
What should I do? Lower the Cytomel or increase the HC? I don't want to take more of HC if I don't have to. I was convinced that I will need higher amount of cytomel but now I don't know and am NOT feeling any better. I felt like the T4 was doing me in but maybe I was making some T3. Hmmmmmmmmm. Don't know what to do. > > I've been off Synthroid (50mcg) completely for 3 weeks and worked my > way up to 40mcg of Cytomel. > > temps in the 4 days (at the full 40 T3) have been > 97.7 > 97.4 > 97.5 > 97.3 > > My temps have come down since being on 40 T3. Guest guest
I would raise HC to 25 for a week then try to lower it again. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
Guest guest
Thanks very much Val. You mean lower the HC after a week correct? Where should I but the extra HC? Am doing 10 - 5 - 2.5 - 2.5. If my temps go up during that time then it means that I needed the extra HC to use the T3, right? > > I would raise HC to 25 for a week then try to lower it again. > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ > http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets >
Guest guest
10 - 5 - 2.5 - 2.5. I would go to 10-7.5-5 -2.5 then as long as temps come up, you can lower againin a week to see if thye will hold then. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
Guest guest
I am new to this group but just thought I would let you know how I am dealing with this. I switched over to the cytomel/armour combo a few weeks ago. I was on 1 grain armour and just added in 5 mcg cytomel in the am and another 5 in the afternoon. I still felt hypo and I dropped down to 1/2 grain armour and then 30 mcg cytomel, felt better for a few days then hypo again. I dropped the 1/2 grain armour Friday night and started 25 mcg cytomel at 6 am, 12.5 @ 2 pm and 5 at bedtime, did ok for a day or two. Yesterday, I took 2.5 hc, 25 cytomel @ 6 am, 12.5 @ 10 am, 25 at 2 pm, 12.5 at 6 pm and 12.5 at 10 pm for a total of 87.5 yesterday. I felt really good, I've done the same so far today with the exception of another 2.5 hc at 10 am. I feel great today but I am sure I need more but I have been moving up so fast and I might run out of the cytomel before I can get info to my doc to prescribe more. My main hypo symptoms that have persistantly bothered me were dry skin and hair, terrible anxiety, depression, couldn't concentrate, eye and leg edema, shortness of breath, bad sleep and no libido. My hair and skin look 100% better, libido is back, sleep is better and today I noticed when I ran halfway across a parking lot in the rain I wasn't out of breath!!! It is really weird though because it's like I am filling up my tank with gas on the cytomel and when it starts to run out my pulse goes up, I get a little anxiety and just don't feel right but within a 1/2 hour of taking the dose I am back to normal. My doctor only prescribed 50 mcg per day and I have to go get labs before she refills it so hopefully when I give her all the info off of this site along with how I am feeling then she will prescribe more. I would think that you probably need more cytomel. Sue
