Guest guest
OK you forgot one thing. How are you dosing it? Timing of doses is everything wiht Cytomel, and are you on any adrenal support? -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Val, What do you mean that dosing is everything? I have weaned off 8 grains of Thyroid S and not take 3 Cynomel upon rising and 3grains 12 hours late. I feel pretty good. Does this sound OK?? > > OK you forgot one thing. How are you dosing it? Guest guest
I'm splitting the 25's and taking 12.5 first thing in the morning with the entire grain of Armour - then taking the other 12.5 about 6 hours later. I tried splitting the Armour into two doses, but 1/2 grain in the morning just wasn't enough, so I started taking the entire grain then, and added another 1/2 grain in the afternoon with the second dose of Cytomel. I plan to drop that second dose of Armour when I increase the Cytomel. I take Vitamin C, Rhodiola and Rainbow Light Adreno-Build for my adrenals. I have Isocort, but am not currently taking it. I've had trouble falling asleep the past few nights, and my sleep is fragmented. Will this get better? Sleep has never been an issue with me . . . I love to sleep! Suggestions? Guest guest
I've not graphed my temps, but plan to start that this week. My sleep issue didn't start until I began the Cytomel last Wednesday. According to my saliva test which was done awhile ago, my nighttime cortisol level is below range. How much do you think I should try to take at night? Guest guest
I'm confused . . .I thought that you want your cortisol levels to be low at night so that you can go to sleep. Would taking an Isocort pellet not keep me " awake? " This has been a crazy week to experiment as it was Spring Break and the kiddos were in from college and life was not on a regular schedule! I was just fine taking 10 mcg of Cytomel, but bumping up to 25 has messed the sleep up. I've been tired in the afternoon, but not tired come 11-12pm. I have trouble falling asleep, but when I do - it's as if I'm not going into a deep sleep. Does that make sense? No heart pounding. I feel fine, otherwise. My pulse has been a little higher than normal . . . could that be the cause? ' I'll try the Isocort tonight and see what happens when I get back into a regular routine this coming week. Thanks for the suggestions.
Guest guest
> You do need it much lower at night than in the daytime but it can still fall too low which allows the glucose to drop topo low and THAT causes adrenaline which wakes you up feelign shaky and often wiht heart [punding if the adrenaline is bad enough. Sometimes tking just a tiny bot of cortiosl at bedtime stops the whole thing from escalating. > > -- > Val, I need some more help. Just to update, my sleep issues resolved after getting use to the cytomel so no more problems in that area. I tried dropping my afternoon dose of Armour (30 mg) and increased my Cytomel by another 12.5 mcg. So, i'm currently taking 1 grain of Armour and 12.5 Cytomel at 6:30 am - 12.5 mcg of Cyomel around 12:30 pm and another 12.5 of Cytomel around 6:00 pm. I started graphing my temps and they're still unstable so i added isocort - 2 pellets with my morning meds; 2 with afternoon meds and I tried taking 1 pellet at bedtime. My avg temps Wed. were 97.4 and yesterday were 98.2 (1st day I increased Cytomel)and this morning - my AM temp was 95.4 and I had an awful headache and very tired. BP is also up 149/97; pulse 94. I have no idea what to do. I started sea salt two days ago. Can't tell an immediate difference. I assume it's too early to feel the T4 leaving my system. Do I need to increase my Cytomel more quickly, or am I having a hard time with Isocort? Also - I know how to watch the temps, but what exactly am I looking for with pulse? Right now I'm taking 1 gr. Armour w/12.5 Cytomel in the morning and another grain of Armour and 25 Cytomel in the afternoon. Felt great for a few days, but now feeling hypo again so this morning I took the entire tablet of Cytomel (25) with my Armour and am concerned with taking too much. My question is regarding temps . . . as long as my afternoon temps don't go over 98.6 - am I okay? The few times my FT3 goes over the top of range - I never feel " hyper. " I feel exactly the same as when I'm " hypo. " More fatigue and wanting to sleep so it's hard for me to gauge. Just wondering if higher temps always mean overmedicated?
