If your Berkey water filter (that sits on the cabinet) doesn't filter minerals like RO filters do, isn't fluoride a mineral? Or not? It has a special filter for the fluoride. The Berkey filters the harmful material in the water. The special fluoride filters get out fluoride and arsenic. > > Do you mind saying how much it cost and where you got it? Does it remove chlorine too? I quit eating bread b/c of bromine (and yeast too) -- all these are Halides and toxic! Our water smells like chlorine before we put it into the Berkey. There are many sizes of Berkey filters. We have a large one that is around 5 gallons of water. You will probably be able to get away with a smaller one. I don't recommend the plastic ones. I think ours was in the $300 range. > > Right now we use a water pitcher filter, not Brita, the other one (I can't remember!), and I don't know what it filters, but the water just tastes better. I think it might be a charcoal filter, but don't know. Probably is. > > Tom's of Maine toothpaste at Wal-Mart is fluoride-free, but doesn't freshen your breath or whiten your teeth or have tartar-control, like the fluoride ones do!! Dang. Baking soda works fine for tartar control and whitening, just don't use it every day. I use tooth soap with neem in it for anti-bacterial purposes. Guest guest
Beware... not all Tom's toothpaste is fluoride free! Brushing your teeth with a soft brush and water will clean them just fine. If you do it three times a day, you can keep the tartar from building up - it takes about 24 hours for tartar to create a deposit on the enamel. Use baking soda a couple of times a week. Salt water also works - especially if you have sore gums. We have been trained by advertisers to think that our teeth are not clean until out mouth tastes minty. Marti > > Hi Susie, > > 1. Guest guest
Other fluoroquinolones include Avelox and Tequin. I had a hideous reaction to Levaquin. It was not an allergic reaction, but an untreatable toxic reaction. It was in fact fluoride poisoning. I think we need to avoid recommending specific drugs. This is out of the scope of this group. >> Hi Susie,> > 1. If your Berkey water filter (that sits on the cabinet) doesn't filter minerals like RO filters do, isn't fluoride a mineral?
