Guest guest
Dear , It will be a drive, but I know for a fact that the Bradenton Sam's Club still had the 60mg/1grain of Armour left. I believe they said they had 290 pills left and they also had some of the drug I take, thyroid, but he didn't have time to see how many he had of those. The Sam's Club in Lakeland was going to TRY to order another bottle, but wasn't sure if it was available. That will also be for the thyroid...NOT Armour. There is another Sam's Club in Lakeland...you might try there, too. That's a lot closer to you than Bradenton. I know that you can go back to Cytomel, but I can't take the chemicals and it's really scaring me. I hope that this is horrible misinformation, but when I see that you've been notified by the AARP that Armour is a banned drug and I've also heard from another lady that she was told by her health insurance provider to have her doctor switch her from Armour to Levothyroxine because Armour is banned? I have a sinking feeling about this. Some people are saying there is NO way that the FDA would ban a drug that was so important for people's health without giving them an alternative AND a warning. Well, the only " warning " I got was when I went New Year's Eve Day to get a refill on my medicine and my pharmacist told me she couldn't get that drug anymore. Later that day after phoning all over God's green earth, I found out from the distributor/manufacturer of thyroid---Qualitest/Vintage----that they were no longer making thyroid because the FDA had banned them from making it without FDA approval. If they can BAN the dessicated thyroid that I take...I would not rest so easy that they can't do the same with Armour. , I do understand that there have been many rumors thoughout the years about banning/recalling/etc. of thyroid drugs and I can understand how regular joe's out here would blow this off as " nothing, " but I'm a little taken-aback that the fact that I can no longer get the best medicine for me because of this ban and I'm trying to spread the word that from everything I've seen and been told that Armour is on it's way out, too? That the people who run some of these groups and websites, wouldn't look over the information that I've sent them and really look into it instead of posting " all is well....don't go overboard. " I wouldn't be so upset with them if they'd posted: " Let me go over this. Let me check on this. Let's figure this out. Let's see why you can't get your meds. etc. " I won't be contacting them anymore and I've deleted myself from the other yahoo group that I joined after their moderator said there was NO way the FDA would ban a drug that people need without a warning WHEN I'M SITTING RIGHT HERE KNOWING THAT THE DRUG I NEED WAS BANNED WITHOUT ANY WARNING TO ME OR MY PHARMACIST. I'm at what we call " def-con 10 " in our home: when you're frantically trying to find out something or get something done that's so important. Well, I've been at " def-con 10 " since New Year's Eve Day. Balancing my time between researching this from every reliable source I can find and getting on the phone and tracking down more of my medicine to hoard and going and getting those meds. I have submitted all the information that I've come up with since Dec. 31 AND I've transferred my prescription to 10 different pharmacies to fill a three-month supply. I will be calling my doctor on Monday to try and get another script from her to try and get this medicine before they take it off the shelves. My problem with hoarding it is that it does have an expiration date: I can only hoard so much before I run into those expiration dates... I hope and pray that the information I've found and your information is wrong. I hope we've been told the biggest lie we've ever been told. I'll be the first one to come on here and say that I'm so very glad I was wrong and that what people were telling me was NOT the truth. LOL...I'm glad we're not a couple of " loons. " I'm also awaiting one more phone call from Joan Powers and I sent off another email to Armour with the AARP info and the info from the other lady who's insurance won't pay for Armour anymore because it's banned. I'll let you know as soon as I hear back from both of them and I look forward to seeing if you get any responses from our elected officials. I might try to call Feeney's office myself if you think it would help to have another Floridian put in call?
