Guest guest
Ted, Yes! My husband just had his 3rd accupuncture treatment for the same thing...numbness. We gave the DOM (Doctor of Oriental Medicine) a copy of the surgical notes so that he would know what had been done (in case he shouldn't be sticking needles in the back of Rick's neck!) Dr. Wilcox has been extremely wonderful, and although Rick has not had any MAJOR breakthroughs yet, we are continuing the treatment as there as been subtle changes and he feels GREAT overall after the accupuncture. Really mellows him out for about a week. (I love it! hehehe) I'd just like to stress that as with any doctor, it is important to find a good accupuncturist. Here in New Mexico, the standards of training they must go through are more extensive than other places, however, a general practioner (family doctor) only has to go through half of the training. For that reason I stay away from those. There is a very good page on the internet (and they will email you referrals!) on accupuncture and they tell you what type of credentials to look for. (I don't have the web addres, but it's something like American Accupuncture Society). Good luck with it! The Acupunture's think the scare tissue is a major problem. I continune to have major headaches, howevere she is working on my mussel and schealoatora system, non't the headachaces. So far it has made me feel better, both from the pain and the depression. I have given up on regular medicine, No one knows, No one cares, there are not enough of us to make it finanical luckrative to study CHairi. If it makes you feel better there are a lot of us out here and keep hoping someone will get interested.
