Vocal Cord Surgery

I am having a thyroplasty on October 29th. That's where they inject teflon

into the paralyzed vocal cord to bulk it up, thereby bridging part of the gap

between the cords and strengthening the voice. I've had a weak raspy voice

for 10 years and did hear about this back then, but it really hasn't been a

pain in the butt til recently. So Dr. Brackmann at HEI referred me to a local

guy here in Las Vegas. Real nice guy, Wagner. Has anybody had this,

considered it, or heard anything good/bad about it?? My concern was

breathing. I thought it was a tradeoff. If they lessen the gap I thought I'd

be weezing for air but he said no. Now I get really dizzy when I talk a lot

cuz air goes in and out too fast, so hopefully that will improve too.

Thanks all. :-)
