opinion on municipal-based EMS

I have a request for the group.

This May, I will graduate with an Honors degree in Biology. I am toying with

the idea of earning my masters in Public Health before I begin Medical School.

Would anybody be interested in reading a dissertation on why EMS should be a

municipal service like the road department, fire department and police

department? I believe that private providers have a place in the system, but

as non acute transfer provider, and perhaps emergency back-up only. This is

where the vast majority of the money is made anyway. EMS is a service for the

good of the community, and the community should support it .

Just an idea. Anybody have any thoughts for me??
