Guest guest
I don't know what to say. I would think that an allergist would be more open but mine wasn't!! I was taking shots before I knew what was really wrong. The shots didn't help much and after getting one my arm would really hurt, was warm to the touch and would sometimes swell. Dr. said this was all normal. After seeing Dr. Shoemaker and finally finding out that I had a toxic illness I returned to my allergist. He didn't want to hear anything and said my symptom couldn't be from mold. He said I was allergic to mold that would cause sneezing and respiratory problems but not all the others.I haven't had any shots since I left the school and seeing Dr. S. Hardly used a kleenex, coughed, or sneezed in 4 years!!!!!!!!!! Sue Allergists and allergy testing/treatments/Aller What is the consensus on these? Are they worthless or worthwhile? my feeling is that research allergists are a different breed than the local doctors.. They seem more honest, anyway, at least about the in reality quite dangerous sometime nature of 'allergies' and immune system driven diseases. And because their income comes from different sources, more honest also about therapies that might help and then also might not... ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour

Guest guest
-I started this illness with chronic fatigue, head pain. Took antibiotics and had severe allergic reaction. Looked like I was 100. Went to emergency and they gave me benedryl injection and some prendizone. A few days later had to go back to emergency cuz the severe uticaria came back. They said I should make emergency appointment to allergist. So he started treating me zyrtec, prendizone, and something else. Did that for several months and sinuses still hurt. Finally I pressured doctor to do cat scan and all of my sinuses were infected. Said I had sinititus, retinitis (spell). Next sent me to ENT. Treated for several months with more stuff can't even remember now. Sinuses were getting better according to new cat scan and then landlord kids removed wall paper, painted for several weeks and another cat scan and all sinuses infected again. Next sinus surgery and landlord says lease is over. So we moved several weeks after surgery. Called everyone I could think of, but no help. Moved into another moldy place discovered it after three months. Next on to neurologist and getting allergy shots and testing for allergies. Allergic to all molds and candida albicans. Every time I had a shot would get rash so they said to stop cuz I had infection. Tried everything then finally the asthma doctor said there was nothing else he could do for me. I was crying. All the while dealing with the court system and we lost every time both places. Next on to new place and gutted. Next went to Dr. Johanning and linked illness to home and wanted me to take sporanax but no one would give it to me. Finally had doctor test my tongue and it was candida albicans but all doctors said yeast won't hurt you. Finally took Diflican for 8 months but then lost insurance. Since then have been taking care of myself but candida is taking a toll. My mom takes the allergy shots and can't live without them. She gets headaches if she doesn't take them but it seems like she has been on the allergy shots for 20 years. Thought after a while you could stop. Just thought I would tell some of the meds and doctors I went through for those that are just starting out. And now I have chemical sensitivities. Don't know which is worse mold or chemicals. To me the feeling is a lot the same sinus pain, migraines, asthma, muscle pain. -- In , ssr3351@... wrote: > > > I don't know what to say. Guest guest
I was told by my allergist when I was a kid that the shots would do nothing; that they would not work, especially if you are allergic to many different types of allergens. If you are only allergic to a few things then perhaps they may work. But I would think for anything strong like mold and chemicals, etc. they aren't strong enough and don't serve any purpose. So in that regard that allergist was honest in telling us that the shots would not work for me but that was almost 25 years ago. --- In , LiveSimply <quackadillian@...> wrote: > > Allergists and allergy testing/treatments/shots > > What is the consensus on these? Guest guest
,have you tried garlic? I have been fighting to keep 2 of the cysts/polyps in my sinuses from infection for awhile now. from ct scan they both look like their growing from the bones. one is comeing off the upper jaw bone and everytime it gets infected the 3 teeth nelow it hurt, these are the teeth that are rotted from the inside out and well have to be pulled. everytime this infection accurs the gums around these teeth gets raw with sores. I have for the last 5 days ate at least a half clove garlic and it seems to help keep the infection down on both of these polyps. my sinuses between my eyes shows a large mass and two smaller cysts/polyps, the mass may be fobrotic tissue? cant see whats going on there. I was diagnised with Candida-Alb two but the whiye spots in mouth had went away after getting out of moldy home, however these sores that appear on the gums around these teeth fell like the same thing. have you tried eating garlic? Ir may burn. I hold a little chuck under my tounge as long as I can stand it than eat the rest chased with food and drink. I have some growing at my place which I know is much stronger that I've been thinking of trying again but it's potant stuff, weew, I tried just a tiny bulb from the blume part last summer and it was ruff, had to spit it out. but I'm thinking it might zap anything, lol's if you have alot of sores in your mouth it may burn ? but maybe that means its working??? might have to find some other way to get it down, the freeze dried tablets are supposed to be good. --- In , " ldelp84227 " <ldelp84227@...> wrote: > > -I started this illness with chronic fatigue, head pain.
