Guest guest
Thank you and KC, As with many others here, the road of our journeys have been paved with many tears and fears. At least for now we feel some relief and comfort. Danella was suffering nose bleeds in Indiana, they went away during our camping across america trip, but they came back in the house in walsenburg, and there I began developing nose bleeds which is strange, I've never suffered from nose bleeds that didn't come unprovoked that is. once again, our breathing is getting better, Danie's and my nose bleeds have stopped again, and things are looking better for us. I hope it continues. We continue to hope and pray for everyone else suffering and hope to be able to help where we can as well. For everyone who has considered this, I have to say, it is scary, we left Indiana with next to nothing and small on finances. Tent camping in state parks to preserve what little finances we had, and it was rough trying to camp with all your belongings in the back and on top of a van. Just about everything we did required digging through all kinds of stuff to try to find that one little thing you need. While on one hand we felt relief and a relaxed attitude, on the other the stress of living in a tent brought a little tension from time to time, and getting into Colorado originally our van complained about the altitudes, the check engine lights came on, we had no money for rent and didn't know if our van would make it another ten miles. We walked the edge of the envelope with a deep crevice on either side. Once the van's computer adjusted to the altitude, everything was better. When we first got into Colorado, we had $500 left We found someone willing to rent to us with that as the deposit and our promise to pay on the first of the month. That was nice and gave us a chance to get our thoughts and emotions together, but this RV tops it all. The only utility we pay is electricity, and today we have used 3 kilowat hours at 14 cents per KwH. Propane will probably cost us $50 per month for heating and cooking. water, sewage, trash and high speed interent are all free. I can't say it was the smartest thing we ever did, but staying where we were in Indiana would have been suicide. When push comes to shove, there are housing authorities in just about every city here, and our neighbor in walsenburg said he got a place for $7 per month when he was out of work, once he went back to work they raised his rates, but help is out there for those who need it. We were blessed to find what we have found, and I love campground living. It is quiet, and most campgrounds have a nice view of something. We are considering applying for a state job for next year at a state park as a camp host. It is work we can do, just make sure people park in their assigned spot, and sell a bundle of firewood when they need it. In exchange, we will park rent free, full hook-ups, and no utility bills. We will need to get a satelite for the internet and pay monthly for that, other than that we will be set. Thanks again to everyone who has thought of us, we think of so many of you all the time. We know and understand the suffering and fear, and our hearts go out to you. It was people who cared that made all this possible for us, and we were beginning to think those people didn't exist. BTW, we had smores by a campfire this evening, with the kids. It was a nice reminder of what life should be about, Dan Dan & Carmella Quoting tigerpaw2c <tigerpaw2c@...>: > Dan & Carmella, > > Congrats! This is so good to hear. Guest guest
Good luck. Please be careful as to your new surroundings - keep them dry, and do the best you can to regain and preserve your health!
