Walking on ice

OK

I had an operation on my spine in March

and the results being I now must wear a full leg brace to walk. I am

worried about my ability to walk on snowy icy sidewalks and streets. In

the past few years when I was walking with just the cane it didn't take

much to knock me down, although when I wear the brace that leg seems to

be steadier, it still has a tendency to buckle on me. If any leg brace

users out there have any special secrets for getting around please fill

me in.

Jeff. Get those little rubber /metal spikey things you put on shoes. Also

get a four prong cane for winter. Looks stupid as heck, but better to look

like an ass than to be on it. Too, take your time. Go slow as an old man in

a buick on a sunday drive. -speedy who prefers to be in a chair on ice, but

it loses traction fast
