I did have the surger for it soon after on both hands. I was told then, that this condition usually affectd elders. My symptoms went away. I started having the numbness and tingling again and my first thoughts were cts. The the test came back negative by an emg. It was only after a dx'd of acm/sm that we knew it wasn't cts. Rick only had the left hand done before they figured out it was really ACM...and even after the decompression they now want to do his right hand. Guess their logic is " if it didn't work the first time....try try again?
