Guest guest
I am also guilty of bringing enough " stuff " to get me thru a shift. The stuff differs from day to day. The usual are " protein bars " ...the chocolate flavored bars packed with protein which fools the body thinking that it is eating....ahhh..chocolate. The protein keeps me slim and satifies the hunger pains that I get. Being on the nite shift has not made me fat, in fact, I have lost weight since I have taken up exercise and eating well...which means...no fast food. Well, except for a pizza once a month...and onct in a while...some realllll chocolatetodie for cake. We girls have another name for sinful edibles..but I cannot label them here...it would be censored..HA! Also included in the bag is the ORC for Ohio, for perusing on slow nites....the " daily rag " the overpriced version of our local news in newsprint...hehehehe...(love to read the alleged police reports...and pick apart the mistakes...imagine that) One newspaper town, here. We never, ever ask our officers to bring us food. It is frowned upon...and I have no complaints with that (not to say that once in a while they offer to make a run for us) but it is rare, and we ever, if rarely ask. And if we ask, they do it, since we don't take advantage of it. The main thought is this...they have their job, we have our job. It is not written anywhere that they are responsible for them to bring us food. We are adults, and figure from the getgo that as such, we are responsible enough to feed ourselves, and plan ahead for the same. There are many nights that no one eats a hot meal. That is the way it goes.<<<shrug>>>> if worrying about my next meal was my concern at mealtime, I woulda got a job at Mcdonalds..or some other fast food restaurant. No other job I can think of, save catering, or being a chef...guarantees that someone will be available to serve /fetch me my food. Of course, not even thinking of being rich or anything like that... Well, I am rambling now...best to hop off this topic. You all have a great day.... Cin in good ole Ohio happy day, be safe
