Guest guest
Hello everyone and especially Val---hope everyone had a great holiday. I am comptemplating going back to the Dr. but he wanted me to go off HC and then saliva test again last time I saw him. I told him I wouldn't until after baby was born. I'm 9weeks post partum now (after a c-section) and trying to wean down my HC. I was on 30mg HC. I take 100mcg of cynomel. I have weaned down to 15mg of HC and my temps are dropping. I went from 98.5 average (at my feeling best in many years) down to 97.7 average with mornings being at 97.3. I feel like I will always need the HC. I think I have secondary adrenal insufficiency due to all the steriods I've been on since childhood for my arthritis and they probably aren't going to rebound or heal. My original cortisol testing before treatment of any kind was 7 in the morning and then down to 3 at noon and 1 evening and 1 at night. SO...my question is...what will he expect to see if I wean off and wait 2 weeks and then test. Will it make a difference that I had a Medrol injection in mid Dec.? I guess I keep hoping to have a doc that takes me seriously adrenal wise. This doc does seem to be open minded about thyroid but not really hip to the adrenal stuff. Not sure why I keep having this need for validation from some doctor who doesn't live my life or feel what I do day to day. UGH! Also...even before I started weaning...my arthritis began to flare. I have fluid on one of my knees and my hands are a wreck. Methotrexate is the drug the rheumotologist wants me on but its really nasty in my opinion. It causes terrible birth defects and we are Catholic and do not use birth control. I just don't see how I could chance it. Anyhow.. sorry to go on so. Any input would be appreciated. God Bless, Lee Ann
Guest guest
COngrats on the baby! It is probably a bti soon after a C-section to expect your adrnels to be well!!! that si a pretty major surgery and your body is barely healed from it, klet alon the organs that had to carry the load of not only the pregnancy but the end of it too! And nbow caring for a newborn is not exactly relaxing... LOL I would tell this doc to jump in a lake that you are not ready yet to wean down th HC. Why let him make you ill to tell HIM you are still ill? -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
