I still love it, but it isn't as good as it used to be. I don't know why someone had the need to tell us what is in that stuff. I just try not to think about it! HA! HA! Guest guest
My memory is of listening to the radio during ww2 and eating popcorn on the front porch with the family, Fibber Magee and Molly, Duffy's Tavern, Bing Crosby and Al Jolson, Jack Benny and Rochester, and having to turn it off when we had an air raid warning because the light on the dial showed and the warden would see it and tell us to turn the radio off. Having dinner of heart and Kidney stew because with ration coupons we could get the organ meats free so that over the weekend dad could broil steak. I can smell it now... Do you remember those ration books and saving bonds? Lois Peggy wrote: Joyce, Did you ever eat mush ? My Mother used to make it then fry it for breakfast the next morn. yummy I miss my Mommy.. Some restaurants in Kentucky and down through the south will have it on thier menu....not as good as made from scratch. I love grits, too. And yes, I miss my mother too. She died of lung disease about 10 years ago. I have felt like an orphan ever since.
