Today, January 18, 2012 Community NOW! and other Statewide advocacy organizations

will hold a press conference to call on state leadership to meet to

discuss the $5 Billion underfunding of Medicaid, the institutional bias,

and the bleak future of the long term supports system in Texas.

WHEN: Wednesday, January 18, 2012. At 1:00PM

The Vaughn Building, 807 Brazos St # 400, Austin,

WHY: To

address our concern about the disparities between institutional care and home

and community based services here in Texas,

and to call on our leadership to meet with advocacy organization to discuss

ways to reform our broken system.

Can't be there in person on the 18th? Make a phone call and

support the cause! Tell and Dewhurst that NOW is the time to fix

the support system in Texas.
