Guest guest
Hi Barb, You should probably do a search for campgrounds in your area. All of the log cabins we stayed in were in KOA and other private campgrounds, but check prices from several different campgrounds. Prices can range anywhere from $45 per night with no weekly or monthly rates to $270 per month. Check with state parks as well, many state and national parks have campgrounds, some of which may have cabins. Check also to be sure they are log cabins and not conventionally constructed, if they are conventional construction type cabins, be sure to check it out thuroughly before paying for a month to make sure it is mold free. Another thing to check out is the laundry rooms, shower rooms, and rest rooms to make sure they don't have mold. I suppose even if they do, being in there for a few minutes per day is not as bad as living in a moldy home 24/7. In every campground we stayed at, none of the log cabins had bathrooms in them, they are basic housing with campground facilities, however most of the campgrounds were very clean, and the showers are semi-private so it really wasn't as bad an issue as I thought it would be. I was real apprehensive about taking a shower at a campground, but when I got in there and saw each shower had a closed off small dressing room and shower, my apprehension wasn't so severe anymore. A couple places we stayed actually had locking rooms for each shower. You will just have to check them out for yourself to see. Campers are pretty casual and to themselves, it was not unnusual to see a woman walking back to her RV from the shower rooms wearing her bathrobe and carrying her towel. Another thing surprising to us is there doesn't seem to be a real security problem in RV campgrounds, we would leave for hours with our tent full of stuff, and no one ever bothered anything we own. Unlike neighborhoods, you don't have school kids cruising or other traffic passing through the neighborhood, because it isn't a neighborhood, it is a campground and most people there respect each others privacy and belongings. On a long shot, you may simply want to search for log cabins for rent in your area, or log homes. Most log homes do not have carpeting, it is the rustic look and feel people go for in building log cabins, and most put in hardwood floors, not carpeting. I'm not sure what is in your area, or the need for you to remain or how far you can move, so a lot of information I cannot give you. Campground log cabins are nothing more than a little cabin with electricity a heater and window air unit, some have a microwave and little fridge and oven, some are just a bed and table, there are a few we have seen that were two bedroom suites, but that depends on how much you are willing to spend. We found a one room cabin in Pueblo West, Colorado for $270/month, but they have a waiting list. When our name came up, we checked them out and were unable to get internet connection there so we turned it down, the internet is our income and cannot live without it. I hope this information helps you, Dan Dan & Carmella Dunkin The Gourd Reserve Quoting barb1283 <barb1283@...>: > I have no link to info on link to increased susceptibility to fungal > infections and high blood sugar but know I have read that, so that is > why I think it is topical here... > > High blood sugar linked to increased risk of cancer. > > http://www.maitake.com/whats_new.php?news_id=30 & > > I have high blood sugar and I have read that hyperglycemia symptoms > include blurry vision.
