Guest guest
I addressed the concerns of everyone in another email to Bluwood, and her is his response. It sounds good, of course an outside study would be better but one can only hope that he would not state something that could be proven otherwise. His response was quite good. I stil would like to see an alternative to hollow walls though. :-) If you would like to add this to the database of green housing, the website is http://www.perfectbarrier.com Here is his response: Dan & Carmella, You are very welcome and hopefully below will help assist you and your group: Of course, we can't change a situation like the use of the Latt & Plaster as mentioned. Wet wood cellulose fiber is just as vulnerable as paper to moisture and a host for mold growth. BLUWOOD's Infusion-Film Technology addresses the moisture area " control the moisture and you'll control the mold " US EPA. The factory application process, where each board (all six sides) is flooded with the solution and as it is penetrated and absorbed by the wood as it dries it cross links with the cellulose fiber at the cellular level to form a sub-surface and topical water repellant semi-vapor permeable film that prevents absorption and retention of moisture yet allows sub-surface moisture vapor to escape and evaporate. To answer your question on human effects, first you should know that there is approximately half a billion board feet in existence in single and multi-family structures to date and have had no reports of adverse effects or concerns. BLUWOOD is a GreenSpec listed product because it contains no VOC's, non-hazardous, non-carcinogenetic, no solvents, heavy metals or carcinogens and produces no gassing or vaporizing and is odorless. BLUWOOD is handled identically in every way as untreated raw lumber. Actually, the chemical solution is less toxic than the raw wood itself. I hope this is helpful. Best Regards, A.
