Guest guest
I just want to vent about this call I took a couple days ago. one of those calls that is hard to get out of your mind. I answered 9-1-1 and it was a 12 year girl reporting that her mom was trapped underneath the riding lawn mower in a drainage ditch in their yard. Her Dad and brother got her mom out of the water and I gave the daughter EMD instructions, which she was able to calmly shout to her dad and brother. Mom had been stuck underneath the water too long and didn't make it. But it just always amazes me how younger kids are so good at listening and helping. This girl started by crying hysterically and was able to calm down and stop crying to try to help her mom; she was heroic. But, the poor lady. Somehow, the riding lawn mower tipped right near this drainage ditch, which had 2 feet of water in it, and she got stuck underneath. Sometimes I wonder, why things like this happen. Guess we'll never know. But makes you think, something you could do everyday, turns out to be the most dangerous thing you've done. Thanks for listening.
