Guest guest
At our department we have officers who out and out hate dispatch. They will tell this to our faces. We've had all out battles on the air with certain officers. I personally let them get all huffy and just ignore it (this is easy for me since my husband is a deputy). Many of my co-workers can't look the other way though. We had one dispatcher taken off the radio for a while b/c he smarted off to the sheriff. Shauna said " Best way to think of it is like a family " This is so true though, off duty there isn't anything most of our officers wouldn't do for us. To them we are two different people, dispatcher and friend. In our department you just can't have them at the same time. OP Brinkley Zerk said: " I just read a post from someone about how an officer " refused " to go on a call he/she dispatched until the Sargent made him. I was wondering if any of you have any stories about officers talking back to you on the air, being rude, or plainly refusing to respond to a dispatch? A description of the events would be interesting. I am not in the comm. field so I can't imagine how officers could be so rude with the people that get THEM help when they're the ones being assaulted.
