Guest guest
We ran into the same problem after all our things were ruined by mold then deodorizers. A few ideas: 1. metal and glass furniture seems to work well. Sometimes rubber feet need to be removed or sealed in (we use polyken foil tape from EL Foust). We found a metal frame for a kitchen table and have stainless steel shelves on it for the top (covered with a colorful cloth). 2. Gaiam sells white fold-up beach/lawn chairs that are made from recycled aluminum. We had to remove the cushion for your head, which was made of rubber, I think. And just use a towel there. I think they are $50? 3. We've used poplar wood to build benches, etc. 4. I work at a desk made of a card table covered with Dennyfoil (also EL foust) and taped w. the foil tape. 5. Metal shelving units can be had at Target or some hardware stores for files, food, etc. If someone else buys it for you at Target, then it can be washed off, as it's all metal, so the smells from the store don't stick around. 6. You could try to find solid wood (oak or poplar) furniture at an unpainted furniture place and use whatever sealants, finishes work for you. Otherwise, we're still in the search for long-term furniture that is more comfy too. But at least for the in-between period, these are some options. Good luck, Chris
