The Maturational Journey of the Group

Leader

Supervision Seminars in the Philosophy and Practice of the TAAM Approach

Facilitated by Nash, LCAT and

Wise, ATR-BC, LCAT

Winter/Spring 2012

Sundays 10:00 - 1:00

Jan 22, Feb 19, March 25, April 22, May 20, June 10

These seminars will offer

both didactic and experiential opportunities to enhance the participant’s

understanding of the guiding concepts which lie at the heart of TAAM’s

integrative approach. Concepts to be explored will include:

Creating the arc of exploration

Metaphoric bridging through the arts - Imagination as a force for healing

Empathic attunement – facilitating emotional communication

Flexibility of expression – the experience of immediacy

Building compassionate communities – the heart of the group experience

We offer a Humanistic/Existential approach to the understanding of trauma and a

belief in the capacity to heal through relationship and meaning-making. The

creative arts and group processing will be interwoven throughout the seminars.

Participants are encouraged to bring examples of their own clinical or

professional challenges to the sessions as an opportunity to explore,

understand and apply the TAAM approach to resolving specific concerns.

Special focus will include preparation and development of the group leader

utilizing therapeutic presence as armature for non-formulaic immediacy and

response. Learning to listen deeply and resonate intuitively with others will

be developed to help open the capacity to intervene creatively and

therapeutically to whatever may present in the moment. Through immersion in a

parallel process within these seminars, participants will come to incorporate

ways of thinking, being and working that will provide transformative healing

journeys.
