The chair of the School Council at St. ph's All-Grade in

Terrenceville wants an explanation why mould discovered during air

quality testing at the school two weeks ago wasn't found earlier.

Debbie Rideout indicated All-Tech Environmental Services of St.

's visited the school to conduct the tests, which were ordered

by Education Minister Joan Burke to help ease the concerns of

parents, following protests held by the School Council last month.

She explained her group was contacted by Eastern School District

shortly after the testing was completed and informed mould was

present in the ceiling of the building's gymnasium.

Mrs. Rideout and other parents would now like to know why an

independent consulting firm, hired by government to assess the

school earlier in the year, missed the problem. Mrs. Burke has used

the results of the report prepared by the firm to bolster

government's argument the school doesn't need to be replaced.

Eastern School District recently forwarded a copy of the report,

which has been in government's hands since August, to St. ph's

All-Grade School Council.

" We are very, very upset with the new findings. We are very upset

with the confidence level that we have with the report. "
