Guest guest
Hello~ A year ago I found a little bit of mold on the wall in our " new " old house and tried to clean it off... that was two months before I'd ever heard of any toxic mold and stachybotrys in particular. I went from being a healthy yoga teacher of 15 years to having a bizarre array of serious and scary symptoms which I'm sure many of you are familiar with. Life has been a living nightmare, and all of my body's systems have been hit hard. I went from 130 to 103 in 8 weeks (while being given inhaled steroids for RAD), and the docs just kept thinking it was cancer, although the testing did not confirm that. I've seen Dr. Shoemaker, but I could not tolerate his protocol, and I have had reactions to every medication suggested, including cholestyramine, so I'm guessing that my body views drugs as " chemicals " (which they are), and reacts to them with the same violence as it does to things like diesel, perfume, spices, chlorine, etc., etc., and of course MOLD. I had no idea a year ago that MCS could be caused by mold... all I knew was that suddenly I was more " sensitive " to smells. Now the sensitivity has escalated to debility, despite air purifiers, HEPA vacs, remediation, MERV filters, etc., and moving to another residence, leaving almost everything behind. Does anyone out there know of any help for MCS, fungal hypersensitivity, and/or mold poisoning that doesn't involve synthetic medications? I've tried a lot of things (acupuncture, vitamin/mineral IVs, megadose supplements, FIR, detox baths, NAET, etc.), but maybe there's a resource I've missed. I did do an HBOT session recently, and for the first time in a year, I could breathe without pain for the hour I was in the chamber; it was sweet, but short-lived, and at $200/session, not really an option for an unemployed yoga teacher. Finding a mold-aware doc in the Philly area would also be helpful. Right now I avoid virtually everywhere and everything, making life incredibly difficult for my family. Thank you for your help. arlene
