Mold Concerns at Achille School

Is there black mold in the Achille school gym? Some parents thought

so, so they asked us to check it out.

We did not find any black mold, but school officials say there

definitely is mold in parts of the school that are now closed off.

The Achille Superintendent showed us around the old gym and part of

the school that is no longer in use. He says part of the basement

has mold because it had water problems in the past. But poses no

threat to students and there is no mold in the gym.

Dr. Caughern said, " There's plenty of ventilation. They're

not locked up. All of the doors and windows are open. The exhaust

vans are running so there's not any danger to any students. "

The superintedent says they will have no mold problems in a few

weeks. That's because the basement and part of the old high school

will be torn down.
