Guest guest
Whatever happened to the good old days of kick ball or dodge ball for exercise like when we were kids. I think since the profusion of computer, the fingers are the only thing that get exercise. It should be mandatory that we have bicycles to power the NCIC terminals so that we could get some exercise. (just kidding It would be nice to have the time to be able to do exercises, but it seems we all work quite a few hours. I usually work for 8-10 day stretches, take 2 days and start over again. With all the 12 hr shifts, it doesn't leave too much time to get out and even walk. Guest guest
I agree sometimes w/ 12 hours shifts it doesn't seem like there really is anytime for anything else. I have fallen into that rut where I go to work and come home and don't do anything physical. Before I started working for 911 I used to walk to and from work everyday and play softball and basketball daily. Thanks for being up this topic because it is one that really needs to be paid attention to. If is proven that exercise helps to combat the negative effects of stress and who has more stress than dispatchers. Patti
