Re: JOIN IMDSA IN GENES DAY!

Hi Kristy,

I am still having major problems with my computer and

internet. I could not join in today because I was on

the phone with the help dest for over 3 hours. Anyway

I got some of it working for now. I think this is a

great idea. Currently I am not working but I have

started making phone calls to my friends which are all

spread out all over the coutnry and trying to get them

and the companies they work for or own to join in. I

will try to get a team Isabella up and running. I am

not sure what I will be able to do but I will give it

a try.

Great Sue! You can also get your family involved and get them to each do a genes

day in their work. And you can talk with all your therapists and get them

involved too!

Kristy,

I was reading the flyers to be give out. I thought

that with mds they also had a higher rate of getting

early onset of altzhimer's also. I could be wrong and

probably am.

Alzheimer disease can happen with those with Down syndrome. We do not have any

research that indicates MDS, but we do assume that it can happen. I, of course,

did not include every single thing that can happen with MDS, because there are

such a list of things!

You know Kristy, i knew when you had me start all the pages for the site, that

that date rang a bell, considering last year I spent hours with assisting

- (yeah ok, writing) his speech for Harmony Day for March 21

Harmony Day, occurs on 21 March each year and celebrates Australia's success

as a diverse society celebrating its commitment to racial respect and community

harmony. Its also The International Day for the Elimination of Racial

Discrimination.

Also, for any of us from Australia, can you please contact me first prior to

making a team, (if you are thinking of making one).

That is fantastic! It all intertwines with what we are doing with Genes Day!

We are working so society will accept the differences found in people with MDS!

I love Australia and all that they do to get along with everyone! I think I

will move to Australia! LOL

Kristy, I am trying to set up a team for and when I do this I get an

error message. (in the " paypal email " include this email: _genesday@...

your donations to be tracked directly through IMDSA's paypal system. I put

this email in the blank space and it will not work. Am I doing something

wrong???

Suggested donations are ($1-$20) however, any amount is accepted.

What do I get for participating?

The three top donating team leaders will receive special donated items such

as informational books, CD’s, DVD’s and promotional items. (actual items to

be announced)

Participants donating $25 or more will receive a special Genes Day T-shirt

to wear proudly on March 21st!

Team Leaders raising $100 or more will receive a complimentary one-year

membership to IMDSA.

Hi

More than likely you added a space before the email because you copied and

pasted it. try typing out genesday@... in the " Paypal email " section.

I just tested it and it works for me!

Be sure to give your team link to at mosaicdownsyndrome@...

BTW...I just wanted to make a note...many people in the past have wanted to

contribute to IMDSA through the Buddy Walks that the NDSS do. Because we are

seperate organizations, we made Genes Day so that you can participate, raise

awareness and still contribute to IMDSA! We have a goal of $10,000 to raise for

this event. I assured our board members that this will not be a problem with all

of our members coming together and making their own teams! So, if you haven't

yet made a team, please do so now! It is fun and it is easy to do! Also...the

top three fundraising teams will receive a fantastic amount of prizes! My house

is filling up with boxes!!!! We have loads of VERY EXPENSIVE books, dvd sets,

cds, and other learning materials! If you haven't made a team go to
