Hi : I still work 4 days week. Believe it or not am phone op for Wal-Mart here in Lebanon. I have my days split up so dosen't hurt too bad. I got to feeling bad in Feb 05 while in hosp. taking care of husb (CHD). Work is great, help all they can.,need to keep ins. I have had bronscopy biopsy only. They look into lungs, wash out cells for biopsy(simply exp). Only on inhalers now, maybe O2 next visit.Won't I look 'cute" at work.Boss said no problem. If I can't talk find something else to do.Guess I'll be there as long as I can get there.I'm afraid if quit working will sit and brood or worry myself even sicker.Besides seeing people keeps me happy, also a must now. Nuff said. May God Keep You In The Palms Of His Hands dnsrndl wrote: Hi

Everyone, First I would love to thank all of you for the info and support. What a difference to feel connected. I just read the profiles. Is Wade still a member? I am curious because I am a teacher too andI am wondering if he started getting sick because he taught in aportable. I am 50, mother of 6, grandmother of 6 and teacher to 18013 year olds. In January I was extremely tired but still gettingthrough the day. I have missed the last two months(tests, tests andmore tests) and went back yesterday. By the end of the day I wasextremely out of breath, tired and had chest pain. Is anyone stillworking? I am not sure if I should move to half days or just quit. Iam not on meds yet because the doctor feels that I need the biopsybefore he knows what to prescribe. He thinks I might have Sarcoid. Is there a difference in treatments? Everything I read

seems to saythere is no treatment if you are in advanced stages?

Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. PC-to-Phone calls for ridiculously low rates.

Yes, there is a difference in treatment. Sarcoidosis is an autoimmune disorder, as is my Lupus. They will most likely concentrate on that. I would guess that PF is secondary to that. I have a lady that I correspond with from England that has Sarcoidosis with PF. Like me, she also has developed Bronchiectasis. Oddly, she was also a teacher. Is 57. You may be forced into retirement because those little petri dishes bring all manner of bacteria into the schoolroom. It is almost the end of the school year, so maybe you can get started on treatment during the summer vacation.

If you are diagnosed with Sarcoidosis, you will have to see a Rheumatologist.... or have you already seen one

Hugs and prayers,

Joyce

I have IPF and two, possibley three, of my brothers have sarcoid. Two were diagnosed before I was. They lead a fairly normal life. One has it worse than the other. Both have been put on prednisone with the understanding that it would stop the spread of the disease although it would do nothind to the damage already done. Sarcoid is not normally considered to be a terminal disease if appropriate steps are taken. If it has advanced to "end stage" I'm not sure what to tell you. I hope this helps. If I can provide any further info please contact me.

Talk is cheap. Use Yahoo! Messenger to make PC-to-Phone calls. Great rates starting at 1¢/min.
