Guest guest
I'm back from NH and coincidentally, have an interesting news article I just read about the state 911 center there as well as a question about their license plates. 1. The AP ran a story about the center making allowance for a single 30-minute nap period during mid shifts on the job. Although the story was pretty neutral, there were more quotes from local law enforcement officials lambasting the idea than there were positive remarks. Personally, I think the idea is great and should be implemented in more centers. After all, mids are tough on all who work them and a 30 minute reprieve certainly keeps people sharp and in the right mind. Kudos to NH and if we have any dispatchers on the list from that center- tell your manager(s) to remain steadfast in their decision! 2. Saw a lot of NH plates with non-alphanumeric characters in them. (i.e. +ION- and +HAPPY+) What's with that? Are those characters just for display or are they actually part of the registration number? -Ken
