Guest guest
That is the worst case scenario. A report written without an physical examination. It may be accepted that a paper review of the records is what it done. When your daily subsistence is based on a non-exam, there may be a real problem Second worse, is the IME where the doctor actually harms you. Following a 2nd IME - I developed a months-lasting ear infection due to a dirty ear tip inserted in my ear... It showed up a few days later, when I went to my primary doc. Clearly, it was related in the window of time. Third, is where you tell the IME doc, you are running a temp, and they never put a thermometer in your mouth. Many of these so called IME docs do a volume of drug-related testing in an 'occupational' practice and really are marginal in terms of their standing in the profession. One doc office I visited had a bathroom with the faucets covered up so you could not wash your hands. Imagine! I had to come out and ask to use a sink with a working faucet, to wash up. It seems that water could be added from the sink to dilute a urine sample to detect drug usage. Is that the kind of practice that is acceptable. Or they work for an agency which provides employer friendly reports. There may be some upright and honest docs out there, and the bad deeds of some, impact them because it creates and air of mistrust. IME means " Impartial " Medical Exam. It is my impression that it is never 'impartial.' Lurking in the background are links to the employer, or insurance company, political or otherwise. Always looking to ' minimize their 'exposure' which is a curious term, when 'exposure' cases are the most difficult to prove. And, there are no broken bones or hard x-rays to prove your injury. Workers cannot go into this process cold and naive. Cheryl <sunbum256@...> a écrit : OMGosh! If that isn't malpractice/negligence, I don't know what is! I'd definately seek legal advice on that one!
