Guest guest Posted November 3, 2007 Report Share Posted November 3, 2007 The problems with these schools is that the cheap districts defer maintainance so long that the buildings become virtually unremediatable and then they realize that their jobs are on the line for allowing that to happen, so they have their backs against the wall and refuse to spend the money for a new building and meanwhile teachers are becoming sicker and can't really go elsewhere to work either and that puts both groups in bad positions that they don't have any flexibility on. They become wedded to the situation. Stripping the building down to studs and then dry ice blasting might work. That might be able to be completed in a summer.
