Recovery Group

>Tuesday 6-7:15pm

This verbal processing group is designed for those clients stepping out of more

intensive programming who no longer need meal support, but would like to stay

connected with a group of peers and maintain their recovery work. Topics covered

include coping skills, body image, identity, communication skills, cultural

influences and more. Clients will be given Journaling assignments weekly.

Art Therapy Group

> Tuesday 7:30-8:45pm

In this group, clients will approach recovery through the modality of art

therapy. Art therapy can help the client to access emotional material which can

not always be reached through traditional therapy alone. This group allows the

client to express and process this material in a safe way. Group members will

create an art piece in response to a theme or guided directive, and at the end

of each session, artwork is processed by the group. Clients in this group learn

how to utilize expressive skills to identify and cope with various emotions,

which translates into stronger coping mechanisms in everyday life. Artwork will

be reviewed periodically, giving clients the opportunity to develop their

story/history visually.

Materials are provided.

*Both of these groups are ongoing, closed groups, meeting once weekly.

Space is limited: The Recovery Group will take up to 8 clients, and the Art

Therapy group up to 6 clients.

Cost - $75/session
