Guest guest
I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who responded to my ranting and raving! I KNEW you all would understand.....I've seen and felt your frustrations as well. I need to send a BIG THANK YOU to Bruce in Ruidoso who said to me " get every medical record with Rick's name on it! Get the notes, the disks, the films, the videos, etc. etc. " I have become enlightened reading this reports. And yet, I feel like we're just now getting the whole story....the docs were only telling us half of what they wrote down!! So, now, I have a few more questions. Some words and stuff that I didn't recognize the appeared many times in several of the reports. Has anyone heard of/have knowledge of Lhermitte's sign? Is that a condition or.........?!?! How 'bout " stenosis of the spinal cord? " I understand that a " stenosis " is a narrowing......is this a normal (?) chiari thing, or a whole new " thing " in itself?! And please.....a definition for myleopathy? I also found out that the first neurologist that performed the EMG for carpal tunnel, also suggested that we have an MRI (he did not suggest this to US, he suggested it to the ortho-surgeon who NEVER mentioned it to us!). He seemed to think that the shooting pains Rick was getting down his arm when he coughed was related to something else besides the carpal tunnel. Had we KNOWN this, we would've gotten the MRI, and probably would've gone straight to the decompression surgery and not messed with the carpal tunnel released. Rick feels that the carpal tunnel was never actually carpal tunnel, but a " chiari thing. " I tend to agree since the release did not alleviate the symptoms. hehehehe.....and by the way, I AM going to copy that sheet that says the syrinx collapsed and send it to that stupid neurologist with a little " love " note!! (Not really to achive anything, just personal gratification.) *GRIN* Thanks bunches!!
