Guest guest
Driving around WITH the map would be helpful. Being able to visually see a location rather than a map is always much better. So ya better hit the road!!! Yeeehaa. I have been invited to take a multiple choice exam on our cities streets, landmarks and key locations. Can anyone give me some information on this type of exam? Is there anyway to study for it eg. studying a city map???? I would really appreciate any feedback. >
Guest guest
You don't say where you are testing or how big the jurisdictions is, or how much time you have to study.. Start by drawing a map with the 2-3-4 main streets. Then increase the number of streets by entering the main thoroughfares and write their names every time you draw it. Use a chalk or wet board. Continue constantly until you can draw the main streets and the boulevards from memory. Continue until you get to the smallest streets. If you have a huge area, you may never memorize the entire area, but you will have worked your way downward to the smallest. That way you will have memorized the major and can locate the smallest if the question says something like, " Take Main to Second to High School. " Remember the unusual streets (or usual as the case may be) ah la, High School, Park Street, Main Street, Hospital, Airport, etc. etc. Divide the time spent doing this by the time you have left. Drive around between doing this to both learn and take a break. Guest guest
Congratulations and good luck .Best way to study streets, landmarks and target areas is to drive the roads.Started doing it that way 30yrs ago and it still works. When my driver and I go anywhere we travel a different route. It really keeps you aware of the area.Just take a friend with you to drive while you sit and take notes.
