Guest guest
I tried posting the following message to the group from the web, but I apparently did something wrong, since it did not show up in the message listing, so I am sending again. If this shows up twice, I apologize. -- Please help! I have a friend who very likely has an Arnold-Chiari malformation. She has persistent headaches and some mild neuro symptoms, and her CT scan showed some tonsillar herniation. She also has a mild spina bifida occulta. However, her local doctor claims that she does not have " enough " tonsillar herniation to diagnose Arnold-Chiari malformation (he did not tell her how many mm herniation) and that her headaches are not related to the herniation and are just regular headaches. This, of course, does not make sense. If she has a documented tonsillar herniation and she is symptomatic, then it really should be evaluated further. Since this doctor apparently is not very knowledgeable about Arnold-Chiari malformation, I am hoping that someone can recommend a doctor for her. Does anyone know of a good doctor who is familiar with Arnold-Chiari malformation in the Tulsa, Oklahoma; Springfield, Missouri; or Kansas City areas? I am not sure how this group works, and I would very much appreciate private e-mail responses, if possible, if anyone has a doctor recommendation (I'm afraid I will miss some responses otherwise). My e-mail address is dkvander@... Thanks! Kathleen ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guest guest
Kathleen, Take a look at this: Neurosurgery Research The Missouri University is doing a search for people like your friend. Dr. Oro has been mentioned in previous posts. Beth Bucholz ------------------------------------------------------------------------
