i just finished catching-up on all the posts here. i haven't posted

in a few months, especially after a good friend of mine was

hospitalized and was diagnosed with kidney problems, which

necessitated dialysis for months (he's doing much better, but is still

on the transplant list). a couple of months ago, i also started taking

6 classes (lasting 4-5 hours each), which keeps me extremely busy.

i know a couple of you have inquired if i've suffered any setbacks

since i've pretty much deemed myself as having recovered back in June.

the 2 things that stand-out:

- Raid bug spray: i immediately have respiratory distress with the

scented kinds, but with the unscented, i'm fine. i have no problem

with it...i can even being the sprayer, but the scented-type forget

it, i have to immediately leave the premises until the smell goes away.

- i live in Southern California, and although i didn't have to

evacuate during the wildfires last month, i was foolish enough to

drive to see one of the fires (it was still a good 8-10 some miles

away). i could smell it and that wasn't very smart on my part since

the air quality was absolutely horrible during that whole week. my

breathing was affected for the following 6 or so hours after driving

out to see the fires, but not anything that would warrant me

considering to go to see a doctor or the ER.

other than those 2 scenarios, i'm actually fairly surprised that i was

able to tolerate talking to a Home Depot employee who reeked of

cologne back in April/May for a good 30+ minutes (unlike years ago,

where i had to immediately *escape* within seconds of smelling

it)...and i attended a party in July where most of the attendees were

smoking both indoors & outdoors, and again, no problems.

i have a couple of projects lined up. i'll start to look for work

after my classes wrap-up. i know i'm extremely fortunate to have

family who were supportive during my whole ordeal (6.5 years) and

especially now when life once again seems so promising.
