Guest guest
<< I am also an AOL subscriber. When I tried to get into the chat room, I had no luck. I downloaded a Java applet to try to gain access. But it wants to work in Netscape. My server uses Microsoft Explorer. When I run AOL and Netscape, my computer freezes up. (Not enough RAM) So I gave up! Looks like we're in the same boat. Anyone with suggestions? >> after 3 evenings , of the same saga , downloaded netscape under aol guidance since no applets / no java messages , then constant freezing ect , 5 hours of grief that night ( tears too ack !!) / then an evening of sorting out whys ( gee those aol techies are nice when your frustrated , even started explaining short term memory difficulties ect ..) the upshot , im now running 4.0 , got there , but found no one last night ! some tips aol shared , dont download netscape from their keyword site ,its an old outdated and troublesome version , go to the netscape site to download a good version if you want to try this double brouser approach , but it way way slows down things , not very functional with dinasaur brained computers ! if your computer can handle 4.0 instead , give this a try instead , it includes a current netscape browser , and might just solve things . My pea brain computer kept freezing with 4.0 ( hense last nights grief , only 3 hours long ) ...solved on about the 10 th call in , by custom setup guidance !! so now , .....to see if i can find someone else there ! if you see me pop in , please im me , and try to help me figure out how this is supose to work !! 2 cents , that have cost 15 hours grief !! sarah in paradise ------------------------------------------------------------------------
