Correcting Kathleen you guys, actually her gave her Percocet which did

absolutely nothing and she had to chase it with a Vicodin...She is wishing for

a perfect day or perfect cure or perfect fix for pain!!!!! NOT!!!

My neurosurgeon told me that recovery varies from patient to patient.

I had surgery on a Wednesday, went home on Saturday, and went back to

work after three weeks. That was probably a little too soon, but

money was tight... It took a total of six months for me to regain

complete use of my neck muscles. I was on heavy pain meds for three

weeks, then cut to ibuprofen after three weeks, with one heavy med

right before bed for another two weeks, one more month with

ibuprofen, then off completely. Good luck to you and your son.

Your neurosurgeon would be able to give you that information.

My daughter's surgery will be on the 26th. We are expecting a

three day stay in the hospital.
