Guest guest
And to add to what else is about to happen in California, the governor is trying to get his " Universal " health plan passed which is not actually universal health care; it's Mandatory health care which is not the same thing but they would love for everyone to think it is. If this should pass it would mean that it would be mandatory for everyone in CA to have health care coverage even if you can't afford it just like car insurance. --- In , LiveSimply <quackadillian@...> wrote: > > If you are a renter and live in California and pay below market rate > because you are living in a rental unit that is covered by a > rent-stabilization ordinance that ties rent increases to the cost of > living for housing. Guest guest
I am sorry, I should have said that I also thought whatever his name's healthcare plan was not feasible if it did not include a way for people who could not afford to buy insurance currently could afford it. The vast majority of the uninsured are working or retired people. I think that we should extend Medicare to cover everybody as a start. If people want insurance, let them buy it and the insurance companies would need to compete on service. But everybody should be able to get basic medical care and drug coverage for free or very low cost. We spend SO much money on the insurance companies now, 1/3 of every healthcare dollar, that simply cutting out these middlemen would allow us to 'insure' everybody. Seriously..
