I'm looking for a GPS unit and the one you mentioned sounds good. Can you

give me more info and where to get it.

Thanks,

Sue

Roxanne,

I know exactly what you mean.

You should get one of the better cheap GPS units. That has helped us

tremendously.

The inexpensive Mios are good.. around $200

They are life savers.. You will find it a tremendous help in that

situation...

You still have to be very careful. But it will tell you where you are at all

times..

Its a " Mio " and we got it very cheap, on sale for under $200

It has maps of the entire US which isn't that unusual now.. (they all have

it)

We don't travel much, but when we do we need to know where we are...

don't we all.. :) so it has been a godsend. We wished we had gotten one

sooner..

Where did you buy it? On-line or from a store?

Thanks,

Sue

Do you install it in your car, or do you carry it with you like in a

suitcase?

They are all very small, about the size of a pack of cards. They typically

mount on your dash using a suction cup. Then they can be plugged into your

cigarette lighter. They take a few minutes after they are turned on to

acquire your location, but then they lock on to the satellites and they can

show where you are to within a few feet. You enter in the address you are

going to and it will tell you how to get there from wherever you are.

If you get one, use a GPS as a reference and NOT blindly follow instructions

because its a machine and when they give you wrong instructions, they are

very wrong. Sometimes ridiculously so. But that is infrequent.. and you can

live with it. Its still a great thing to have.
